1962 bt7, long term garage storage- same owner since 1987, triple carburetor. Nice older repaint - there is a 7 inch square repair to top of lf fender crown ( something dropped?), no evidence of any other accident damage. Car runs very well, gauges function , lights, turn signals, all electrics good, tight steering, good oil pressure, rebuilt gearbox and o/ drive w /new bearings, bushings, sychros, seals. Rebuilt carburetors (3), 5 new tires @ tubes, wheels painted @ balanced. Brake and clutch hydraulics rebuilt, runs strong. Needs interior work, has new carpet, small trim, new seat runners, seats are complete @ original, steering wheel is tired, interior side panels tired or missing. Frame is straight, no rot- door seams close w/ clean alignment, frame outriggers solid. Rocker panels have been replaced in steel but amateur job, floors solid. Small repair to side of trunk floor. Front chrome trim, grille and bumper are nice, rear bumper straight but chrome is fair. Lots of money spent in recent years to road worthy driver. Car has new; gearbox @ o/ drive rebuilt, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, brake hoses, brake light switch, handbrake cable, fuel pump, exhaust flex pipes, carburetors rebuilt, steering idler, front sway bar bushings, door latch strikers, oil hose to gauge, tires and tubes, carpet kit, convertible top incl new snaps and top latches, tonneau zipper ( brass # 12), battery on/ off switch, license plate lamp, front fender beads, trunk seal.

1967 austin healey 3000 mkiii bj8 for sale. This bj8 has 60,000 original miles. It has an older, but respectable colorado red paint job. The body is very straight and it has a great front shroud and grill. The interior has been properly replaced and has been done correctly to the original black configuration. It has a new woodrim steering wheel. It has a very nice everflex top and includes the matching tonnuau. It has new 60 spoke painted wheels with new tempra duration 165 x15” radials. This mkiii bj8 austin healey has a new, very high quality, stainless steel free flow exhaust system, which includes new downpipes. The overdrive gearbox is one of the nicest i have ever shifted. The 1st gear is extremely quiet.

Donald healey, the motoring mastermind behind the big healeys, originally was known for his spectacular abilities as a racing driver, and his performance in the 1931 monte carlo rally. Racing a 4. 5l invicta with questionable handling, he hit a telegraph pole in sweden knocking the rear axle out of alignment along with one of his brakes failing further into the rally but still managed to finish first in one of the most challenging motor sport events of the time. This triumph lead to the healey name gaining momentum on an international scale and eventually mr. The 100-4 was introduced in 1952 and the first of the austin healey's which would live on for another 15 years in two other variants known as the 100-6 and 3000. The most sought after, user friendly, and desired models is the mkiii, also referred to as the bj8. These final specification examples offered roll up windows, weather tight construction, easy-to-use top, heater, front disc brakes, and a finely crafted wood dash, paired with other little accouterments that make a car enjoyable in nature and user friendly. The odometer shows a mere 24 miles since the restoration has been completed and this example certainly shows as such. Prior to the restoration, it is known that this car was purchased from a gentleman in virginia and then brought to philadelphia to execute the restoration. The british motor industry heritage trust certificate indicates that this example was built between november 23-26 of 1964 and then dispatched to a dealer in the united states on december 17th of that same year. Originally this example was finished in black with a red interior and equipped with wire wheels, heater, adjustable steering column, roadspeed tires, laminated windscreen, and overdrive from the factory. Now let's move on to this example's current day condition. Cosmetically, the car is in 1- condition with every panel free of dents, major scratches, or flaws with excellent shut gaps. The paint is deep, shiny, and in the condition as one would expect from a fresh restoration as are all of the emblems. All rubber components including windshield moldings, door, trunk and bonnet seals are all supple and brand new. Additionally, every piece of chrome including bumpers, windshield chrome, handles, grill, and door moldings are all newly re-chromed and are free of flaws minus the soft top hinges which have slight pitting and are perhaps original. All glass including headlamps, windshield, doors, and quarter windows are all excellent with no scratches or chips. All sitting on a fresh set of dayton wire wheels and correct michelin tires. Overall, the car presents as a show-quality example that is certainly hard to fault. The door jams are cleanly and tidy with no quarrels to be had. The front and rear seats are in impeccable condition with the.

To this day, these concise, nimble roadsters are adored by enthusiasts for their performance, classic look, and nostalgia. Being that these cars are so pleasantly usable, they were regularly enjoyed by their owners over the years resulting in seeking out good examples increasingly more difficult but not impossible. This brings us to the example on offer. Now available out of the lbi stable is a matching numbers, 1962 austin healey 3000 mkii chassis number hbt7l18337, engine number 29eruh4545. This example is coming out of over a decade of ownership here in pennsylvania and is now awaiting its next care taker. The initial impression this car gives off is a consistent, well cared for and preserved restoration, boasting quality that has stood the test of time. The old english white paint has aged well, still possessing a glossy shine and depth. In terms of flaws, there are only a couple noteworthy items to include a small bubble on the passenger side door directly to the left of the door handle and a minute crack by the bonnet grill. Otherwise the paint shows well and could be considered show worthy and without needs. The rubber components are all intact, supple, and seal properly. The weather gear is in presentable condition but it should be noted that the plexiglass windows do have some moderate scratches and the rear plastic window has developed some clouding. An inspection of the panel fitment will conclude even gaps and seams throughout which can be attested to the quality of the restoration. The chrome items including the bumpers, grill, bezels, windshield frame, and trim pieces are in good shape, absent of any significant flawing but some scattered subtle pitting can be seen under close inspection on various items. The wire wheels and tires are presentable however, the paint on the wheels has begun to fail in a few small areas. They could be left in their driving quality state or simply resprayed to remedy the issue. The glass components on the car are all free of any deep scratches, chips, or abnormalities showing, as a restored example should. Pull open the door and the door jams appear clean and consistent with the rest of the car. Given that this is an older restoration, one will note a few items have developed some patina. The side bolsters on the driver's side seat, a common area of flawing, have slightly worn but are still very much presentable. Also, under the right lighting one can see the red vinyl on the front seats has begun to fade slightly with the rear seats slightly darker as they have most likely never been sat in. The dash top and fascia is without flaws, housing the rebui.
